Horry Electric Cooperative, Inc. is a non-profit, member-owned organization providing information and energy-related services on a fair and equitable basis.
Horry Electric was organized on April 25, 1940, with 627 charter members. Our system was energized on January 7, 1941.
A nine-member board of trustees, elected from and by their fellow members at the Cooperative’s Annual Meeting, governs the activities of the Cooperative. The board names the Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer who, in turn, is responsible for appointing the leadership team that operates and maintains the system.
