Equal Pay/Rest Easy

Equal Pay (also known as Rest Easy) helps you guard against huge changes in your electric bill. Horry Electric considers your past use to determine your average payments. Since your bill remains the same each month, you can anticipate the amount you owe. Your budgeting will be easier than ever before.

Equal Pay Requirements

  1. Available for residential accounts only.
  2. No more than one (1) returned payment in past 24 months.
  3. Pay the existing account in full before setting up the Equal Pay agreement.
  4. In order to enjoy the benefits of our Equal Pay Program, you must also participate in Bank Draft. Bank Draft eliminates having to mail a check and assures on-time payments.
  5. Location must have 12 month billing history. If sufficient billing history is not available, a minimum $200 Equal Pay amount may be required.
  6. Contact a Member Service Representative at 843-369-2211 to sign up for Equal Pay and Bank Draft.

Upon Enrollment of Equal Pay/Bank Draft I understand:

  1. Horry Electric shall not be responsible or liable for notifying me if the balance in my account is insufficient to pay the draft.
  2. The bank drafts will be electronically transmitted on my next available billing and I am responsible for any charges incurred by Horry Electric Cooperative, Inc. for bank drafts.
  3. The bill amount may change in June and/or December when the Equal Pay amount is recalculated based on current use. The recalculation will take place, regardless of the number of months I have been in the program. Any actual balance (both positive and negative) will be taken into consideration when recalculating the new Equal Pay amount. I will be notified of the new Equal Pay amount on my May and/or November billing statement.
  4. I will be removed from the program if there are insufficient funds in the account at the time the account is drafted. At that time, the entire account balance, plus all applicable fees, will be immediately due. If removed, I will not be eligible to sign up for Equal Pay for 12 months.
