Horry Electric Cooperative’s WIRE (Women Involved in Rural Electrification) chapter accepts applications for the WIRE Scholarship between October and January each year.
Applicants must be an active member of Horry Electric or dependent of an active member. The applicant must also live in the home with the member.
The $1,500 scholarship is for one academic year for a freshman attending an accredited two-year or four-year college/university located within Horry County, such as Coastal Carolina University, Horry-Georgetown Technical College, Galen College of Nursing, Webster University, etc.
Applications must be submitted by Friday, January 8, 2027 at noon. Applications received after this time are not eligible.
